AGF Partners in Launch of Kenya’s Largest Circular Economy Program

AGF's Group Director of Capacity Development, Patrick LUMUMBA at the event

African Guarantee Fund, in partnership with Absa Kenya Foundation and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), launched the CircularRising Program — Kenya’s largest circular economy initiative aimed at unlocking sustainable financing and accelerating green enterprise growth.

The initiative is expected to create more than 6,000 new and improved jobs within the next two to three years, while empowering over 2,000 women- and youth-led MSMEs operating within Kenya’s circular economy ecosystem.

As a key partner, AGF will play a critical role in enhancing access to finance for MSMEs, enabling businesses in the circular economy value chain to scale operations, drive innovation, and build resilient enterprises that contribute to sustainable economic growth.

The CircularRising program is also projected to recycle more than 6,000 tonnes of waste materials and indirectly improve the livelihoods of over 30,000 people across Kenya through inclusive economic opportunities and environmental sustainability.

This partnership reinforces AGF’s commitment to advancing impactful financing solutions that support entrepreneurship, job creation, financial inclusion, and climate-resilient development across Africa.
