AGF’s Chairman, Felix BIKPO, at AfDB Annual Meetings

AGF's Chairman shares his panel contributions

AGF Chairman, Mr. Felix Bikpo, took part in a high-level panel discussion on “Mobilising Capital for Inclusive & Resilient Growth” during the prestigious Africa Bankers Awards held in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.

The session brought together key stakeholders from across the African financial ecosystem to discuss innovative approaches to unlocking sustainable financing for Africa’s economic transformation.

In his remarks, Mr. Bikpo underscored the critical role of African financial institutions in bridging the financing gap for SMEs, which remain the backbone of the continent’s economies. He emphasized the need for stronger partnerships between development finance institutions, commercial banks, governments, and private investors to mobilise long-term capital capable of driving inclusive and resilient growth.

The Chairman also highlighted the importance of de-risking investments to encourage greater private sector participation, particularly in underserved markets and sectors that have significant developmental impact. He reiterated AGF’s commitment to supporting financial institutions through guarantee solutions that enhance lending capacity to SMEs, women-led businesses, and green initiatives across Africa.

Mr. Bikpo further stressed that resilience in Africa’s economies will depend on building sustainable financial systems that are responsive to emerging challenges while remaining focused on job creation, innovation, and economic inclusion.
