AGF’s Group CEO Featured in Business Traveller Africa

The African Guarantee Fund (AGF) Group CEO, Mr. Constant N’ZI, was featured on the July/August edition of Business Traveller Africa Magazine, a leading international travel and lifestyle publication headquartered in London, United Kingdom.

In the exclusive interview themed, Delivering Impact with Discipline,” Mr. N’ZI shares his insights on AGF’s strategic direction, leadership, and the Fund’s role in driving sustainable economic transformation across Africa through increased access to finance for MSMEs.

The conversation covered a lot of ground, from what it means to step into the top seat at a pivotal moment for AGF, to the realities of doing business across Africa’s diverse markets, to where the most meaningful investment activity is taking shape today, region by region.

A few highlights from the piece include:

  • Why SME finance in Africa is shifting from being purely a “credit risk” conversation to one about liquidity, structure, and smarter product design
  • A behind-the-scenes look at AGF’s work with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry on a climate-smart dairy value chain initiative, which helped unlock over KES 600 million in financing and support more than 3,400 farmers and 120 SMEs
  • Candid thoughts on the barriers still holding SMEs back from scaling across borders, and what it really takes to build partnerships that deliver impact at scale, not just announcements
  • His take on the reality global business leaders often miss when they think about “risk” in Africa

As the GCEO puts it: “Scale without discipline is not success. AGF must grow, but it must grow in a way that protects shareholder capital, strengthens partner confidence and delivers real value to African businesses.”
